DCE were appointed by GEIC to conduct a TIS (Traffic Impact Study) for an industrial logistics village development in Umm Al Aweena. The development comprises of industrial, commercial, residential, administration, and retail areas. There are 335 car parking spaces and 502 LGV/HGV parking spaces available on‐site. Following TIS guidelines developed by the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP), traffic was generated, distributed and assigned to the road network. Levels of Service (LOS) at selected junctions and links within the study area were analysed in order to gain a better understanding of the traffic / transportation and capacity issues. After completion of the analysis, appropriate measures were proposed to improve the performance of the road network. PTV traffic software analysis packages, VISUM and VISSIM were used to conduct this analysis.
