The scope for this is Road Safety Audit Report (Detailed Design - Stage 2). The KFH Upgrade project has been initiated to alleviate traffic congestion along the highway between the Al Farooq & Al Fateh interchanges, as well as improving access to Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH) and The Avenues Phase 2 development.
The Highways Design, with respect to the upgrading of King Faisal Highway (KFH), has been prepared based on the Bahrain Roads Design Manual 2018 (BRDM) and the Road Hierarchy agreed with the Ministry of Works (MoW), through the Project Steering Group meetings and the outcomes of the Traffic Impact Assessment, with KFH beings defined as an Arterial Road. The latter included the development of various options which were submitted in the project Concept Design Report and the agreed Junction configuration, and the implementations are included in the Preliminary Design.
