DCE was appointed to conduct a traffic impact study for Gewan Island, The Pearl City, Qatar. As a foundational step in the study, a preliminary evaluation was conducted to identify potential locations for the proposed car park on Gewan Island. Each site was reviewed against a set of weighted criteria, including accessibility to key destinations, proximity to congestion hotspots, available footprint, impact on existing circulation, cost, and integration with surrounding land use. The advantages and limitations of each option were documented to ensure a balanced comparison, with further consideration given to constructability and potential planning constraints. The findings of this assessment culminate in the selection of a preferred location to advance into detailed traffic analysis and design modelling.
