DCE was appointed to carry out the Preliminary Design - Stage 1 RSA for Shaikh Salman Highway (SSH). This is a major road link in the Central Governorate of the Kingdom of Bahrain that serves commercial and educational hubs of the country viz Salmabad, Isa Town, Riffa areas. The traffic volumes along SSH highway are very high and operates at its full capacity with all the junctions operating at and beyond their capacity limits causing major commuter delays along the highway. Major junctions along this highway are North Isa Town Junction, Isa Town gate junction, 16th December Junction and Riffa Clock tower roundabout. Among these junctions only Isa Town gate junction is grade separated and rest of the junctions’ grade separation are under design/tender stage.
