DCE were hired by Larsen & Toubro to carry out the detailed design (Stage 3) RSA for Al Rayyan Stadium and Precinct.
Al Rayyan stadium will be one of the stadiums hosting the prestigious FIFA World Cup matches to be held in Qatar in 2022. Al Rayyan stadium and precinct will become an important land mark as the facilities and the precinct in general will be show cased to the world audience.
Roads within the Precinct are minimised and shared pedestrian/ vehicle surfaces are maximised to give priority to pedestrians and to emphasise the importance of walking. This creates a university campus atmosphere, allowing visitors to freely wander within the Precinct in comfort and safety to establish its use as an important civic space as well as a centre for sporting excellence.
The proposed Al Rayyan Stadium is located to the west of Doha City, along Dukhan Highway. Mall of Qatar is located to the east of the stadium.
