DCE were appointed to carry out a Construction Stage (Stage 4) Road Safety Audit on a scheme known as ‘’Khalifa Avenue’’, carried out on ‘Dukhan Road East Contract’ project. This RSA is for the permanent works.
Works include the construction of approximately 7.5 km of dual carriageway road as the mainline of Dukhan Road East and 3.2km of Al Gharrafa Road. The project site is located to the west side of Doha City.
This scheme involves the westbound and eastbound mainline and frontage roads of Khalife Avenue. It also includes the cycle tracks and footpaths adjacent to the carriageways. It is approximately 7.5km long and stretches from Al Wajba Interchange to Tilted Interchange.
There are 4 interchanges included in as part of this scheme.
There are two mid-block pedestrian crossing in the scheme. One is located outside the Metro station to the east of Qatar Academy Interchange, and the other is outside the Convention Centre. These crossing are circa 40m wide. They cross the frontage roads (2 lanes) and maintain (4 lanes) and are controlled by traffic signals.
