DCE were hired by WSP to carry out construction stage (Stage 4) RSAs for Lusail City.
The scope of this Road Safety Audit covers four sections within the city of Lusail in Qatar. These four sections are Road A1, Road A2, CP01 and CP02.
CP5B Road A1 and A2 – these are three lane dual carriageways with a posted speed of 60kph. Street lighting columns are provided in the median, and separate pedestrian and cycle paths are provided in the verges. There are several large signalised intersections provided along these roads. The western ends of both roads connects to the Al Khor Expressway project. The eastern ends connects to other projects in Lusail.
CP01 (Marina District) – this area consists of a network of dual carriageway roads that connect at signalised intersections. The posted speed limit is 50kph at most locations. The landuse is a mixture of residential, hotels, commercial and government buildings. Street lighting and NMU facilities are provided throughout the area.
CP02 (Fox Hills North and South) – this is a residential area consisting of low speed single carriageway roads. The majority of the buildings are built and uninhabited. The majority of the junctions are simple priority junctions and mini-roundabouts. There is one spine road, which is a two-lane dual carriageway, that runs north south through CP02 (Road E15) and there are six signalised intersections on this road.
