DCE were appointed by Khatib & Alami to complete the Road Safety Assessment for Package 27. The report examined the road safety aspects of 3 options for the concept design (stage 1) of Package 27.
The road safety assessment was a comparative assessment of the road safety implications of different scheme options. Road Safety Assessments require at their base some understanding and application of risk assessment techniques. This comparative assessment provided an opportunity to assess the safety implications of fundamental design principles.
The opportunity to make comparative assessments makes Road Safety Assessments an ideal tool for use within early stages of design.
